Sixteen years ago I spotted the commercial success that could be achieved by Alan Ardiff, an artist who created unique art and jewellery designs but had no skills in business administration. Since then, Alan Ardiff has become the leading designer/maker of jewellery in Ireland with success in the export and e-market.
In this time I have worked on all elements of designing and marketing the brand and identifying commercially successful designs. The company now employs seven full-time staff and, with my MBA, I am competent in financial management and company law.
On the back of this experience, I have worked with a number of individuals both in a formal (mentoring) and informal capacity to assist them in working towards specific goals to bring about growth/changes within their business. I have a broad spectrum of knowledge in terms of all aspects of running a business, with significant experience in successfully applying for grant funding and finding 'lean' alternatives in all aspects of production.
My driving force is embracing challenging new ideas and bringing them to a successful end.
I have completed the mentor training provided by the Craft Council of Ireland. I have worked in a paid capacity as a mentor with a range of craft and design enterprises. I have also supported a number of enterprises in an informal capacity, particularly those who are seeking to establish themselves in the export market.
