As well as running Scale Graphic Design studio, I am a visiting lecturer in Brand Identity and Professional Practice on the Visual Communication course at IADT. I also work as a brand consultant and mentoring partner with Ogilvy for new products and services. My in-depth knowledge of brand identity has been gained working with clients such as Dunnes, Diageo, Aer Lingus, Safefood, Bord Na Mona and Guinness. I am an active member of the Institute of Creative Advertising and Design as a design juror and student mentor. I have always had a interest in craft design as my wife trained as a potter.
I help the students on the Visual Communication course in IADT with graphic design practice by helping them find a process of developing their work. I also help them assess considerations such as audience and product relevance when working on brand packaging projects. I have worked closely with ICAD over the last six years on their Upstarts Programme. Each year I mentor a recent graduate over a period of six weeks. On a business level I enjoy helping people visualise the branding process, from exploration, to discovery, development to end product or service.
