A master class bringing together trainers and 16 young European professionals of crafts, design and applied arts to reflect upon a new approach towards craft production and propmotion in Europe.
The Ceramics Master Class in Ireland, that took place from 19 to 25 August in Thomastown, Kilkenny, is part of three Master Classes financed by the European Leonardo da Vinci programme. The European master classes, covering sectors such as wool, wood and ceramics, are aiming at:
- Defining and enhancing the image that crafts and applied arts have in today's world.
- Defining a training methodology which brings together heritage and creativity.
- Defining the notion of innovation in relation to crafts and applied arts.
